So watched this incredibly haunting documentary called The Bridge…..
In 2004, 24 people committed suicide by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. In this film you see some of these people actually jump off. It’s INSANE! There are loads of interviews with family and friends who talk about the lives of those lost. The documentary, of course, is really sad but also really interesting. There is also a story about a guy who jumped off…AND…he’s still alive. It’s a really well done film with some beautiful shots of the bridge. If you’re in the mood and can handle the subject, I highly suggest it.
so i spent this last weekend in a small town called Bend, Oregon. my cousin got married..and it was quite beautiful. upon my arrival in bend, i had to take a a mini plane to get to the redmond airport. on this plane ride i sat next to a nice old man from texas. his name…..(i have no idea how to spell his name..so this is my stab at it.) Squadillyknock aka Sqaud. the most memorable thing he said to me..was “my full name is laurie (insert middle name) squadillyknock, so i go by squad cuz laurie is a girls name.” here here squad. had i taken a picture of him..it would have resembled this guy.
so bend is gorgeous. lots of trees, lots of green trees, blue skys…all the time, and at night i saw so many stars. knowing that they are a small town, bend provides a pretty good downtown scene. we hit up some pretty cool bars, my favorite being the bar where you can drink and smoke cigars out side while sitting next to enclosed bonfires. FUN! the one downfall about oregon, they don’t sell alcohol in your everyday grocery stores. one can only purchase liquor at a liquor store- ok fine- oh wait what?! there is only one liquor store on this side of town…no!! and it’s closed!! dear oregon…thats just bad business.
i was sad to leave bend for 2 reasons.. the weather was way better than the weather here, and (more importantly) i met some pretty amazing people.
this is heidi. this was the second time we met, and its like we’ve known each other forever. i love when that happens – thats not the limeade talkin’ either! cheers.
this is joel. joel rides a bmw k100 or k1000 i don’t really know. he was nice enough to take me for a ride. it was a blast too. motorcycles are so in right now. he was nice enough to dance with me at the wedding as well…what a good sport.
andrew. my first encounter with andrew, he brought to my attention that we both own the same pair of girl jeans from h&m. after that i instantly knew we’d get along.
this is jeff. jeff was kind enough to drive us all over town looking for alcohol and let us hang out at his place. he also has good interior design skills.
there are many more cool oregon peeps that i met..but i didnt shoot them all..so too bad for them. but all in all i had a great time. more pictures to come.
