Thursday Photoshoot Day
July 27, 2008I wish Wednesday
July 24, 2008I wish I took rad photos like Cass Bird.

She is an amazing photographer. Such great use of available light, point of view, and subjects. I love her use of gender ambiguity in her photo essays. She also photographs for urban outfitters catalogs (which I love). Totally my favorite photographer this month.
Nowhere California
July 19, 2008After years of seeing photos of Salvation Mountain, I finally got the chance to go see it. It’s like 2.5 hours away and is the longest, saddest, second creepiest drive I’ve made. I didn’t even realize it was featured in “Into the Wild”…an amazing movie. It’s said that Salvation Mountain is the second most visited tourist attraction in Imperial County. This makes me wonder….what’s the first?!?!??! There is nothing..and i mean nothing out there expect dirt, dead shrubbery, an occasional area of greenery, which seems way outta the norm, and busted up buildings. We (Alex and I) didn’t get the chance to meet the creator, Leonard Knight, he was sleeping…or dead, but hopefully sleeping, regardless, we didn’t want to bother him. Maybe next time….
Some random photos of beautiful Nowhere, Ca and the Salton Sea

Somewhere California
July 18, 2008This past weekend, I got suckered into going to San Luis Obispo with Alex. I helped her shoot a wedding out in Pismo Beach. The couple was pretty rad (photos coming..ehh, soonish). On the way back home, we stopped off at this really cool old chicken diner. Not more than a minute of being there..some old foreign guy pulls up, mumbling to us to get off the land…mind you he spotted us on his telescope. weird. Anyways here are some photos.

Thursday Photoshoot Day
July 18, 2008Every (well usually) Thursday, I hang out with Noelle and Rob. After months of just sitting around waiting for good tv to come on, we decided…… HEY! lets use this time to take pictures of us! Because we’re vain… really. We find cool spots (mostly Noelle) and take, what we think, are cool photos. Here are some “cool” photos of Noelle….and company.
Pure Genius
July 12, 2008So last night may have been one of the greatest nights EVER.
My friend Andy and I trucked it down to LA to see one of my (maybe him too) heroes. Ricky freakin Gervais.
We started off the night by going to what looked to be a shady bar called…Hollywood’s HappyEndings. I was hoping it was a gay bar with dodgy food and happy hour so Andy could get us free drinks. Nope!
Turns out it was really nice and pretty rad on the inside..not shady and seedy liked we had hoped. next time LA its on.
After that, we head over to the The Kodak Theatre. We stand in line and who is standing in front of us….you guess it Jason Bateman. Being huge fans of Arrested Development, we debated whether or not to ask him for a picture..I say yes because who cared really, are we ever going to see him again…prolly not.
so we did..he’s cool, he’s a real person , he stands in line and was even text messaging..he’s just like us!!

On to Ricky Gervais. He is truly a genius. Creator of both the Office and Extras…it doesn’t get better than this guy.
I wish Wednesday
July 10, 2008I shuffled through the city on the 4th of July……
July 10, 2008I like 4th of July. It’s pretty much an excuse to not work, play outside, drink, and set things on fire. HOORAY!
I hung out with some of my favorite people… Rob, Noelle, and new fav Kabir. It was like 20 degrees cooler in Newport than the Crown…so that was a plus. Noelle and I killed at smashball and ditched the dudes to do what we do best……PHOTO SHOOOOT!!
Watch out Urban Outfitters catalog!!
The Bridge
July 8, 2008So watched this incredibly haunting documentary called The Bridge…..
In 2004, 24 people committed suicide by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. In this film you see some of these people actually jump off. It’s INSANE! There are loads of interviews with family and friends who talk about the lives of those lost. The documentary, of course, is really sad but also really interesting. There is also a story about a guy who jumped off…AND…he’s still alive. It’s a really well done film with some beautiful shots of the bridge. If you’re in the mood and can handle the subject, I highly suggest it.
I’M IN LOVE!!!!!
July 3, 2008
He is a pretty amazing photographer based in New York. His photographs inspire me to take better photos of better looking people..but at the same time makes me want to give up photography because there’s no way I can top him.
Dear Ryan,
you are my new favorite photographer, and I want your job….wait no….I want to be you.
